Channel 4 News veteran Jon Snow has revealed that he has become a father again at the age of 73.

The anchor married Precious Lunga, 46, in 2010 and after "numerous" miscarriages, the pair decided to have a child through a surrogate.

Snow already has two adult daughters from his previous 35-year relationship with Madeleine Colvin.

"In our desire to seal our now eleven years of marriage with a baby, my wife suffered numerous medical setbacks and miscarriages," Snow said in a statement.

"Consequently, we will always be deeply grateful to our surrogate who carried our embryo to term.

"Amid these challenging times, we feel doubly blessed to be able to celebrate our good fortune."

Snow has been Channel 4's main news presenter since 1989.
