Barcelona are reportedly confident of striking a deal with their stars over a pay cut, but only four players have agreed to the measure so far.

Barcelona are reportedly confident that they will agree a 30% pay cut with their players on Tuesday.

Many clubs across the globe have opted for salary cuts as a means of saving funds in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, with empty stadiums and postponed matches contributing to a significant loss in revenue.

Barca's attempts to negotiate a wage decrease have not been as smooth as the Blaugrana would have hoped, though, with previous reports claiming that Frenkie de Jong, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Clement Lenglet were the only players not to oppose a pay cut last month.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, progress has been made in talks between the club and the players, and Barca are confident that an agreement over a 30% decrease will be reached.

The report claims that lost monies will be returned in instalments while players are contracted to Barcelona, but De Jong, Ter Stegen, Lenglet and Gerard Pique are the only players who have agreed to this measure so far.

Should an agreement fail to be reached, the Catalan giants will supposedly be forced to unilaterally reduce their stars' income.
