Who is out of contract at Manchester United on June 30? Which players will leave?

Sports Mole assesses the situations of the five first-team players who will be out of contract at Manchester United next month.

Manchester United have five first-team players out of contract at the end of next month, while a decision also needs to be made on the future of on-loan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The Red Devils have the option to sign Amrabat on a permanent basis from Fiorentina, but as it stands, it is thought to be unlikely that the Morocco international will remain at Old Trafford.

Raphael Varane's exit on a free transfer has already been confirmed, but the Red Devils have decisions to make when it comes to the futures of four other first-team players.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the situations of the individuals who only have deals with the 20-time English champions until June 30.

Raphael Varane

Varane's departure from Old Trafford at the end of next month has already been confirmed.

The ex-France international has struggled with fitness problems this season, but he has still made 30 appearances in all competitions.

Varane has recently been out with a muscular problem, but he could be back for the team's final two matches of the campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City.

The 31-year-old is believed to have interest from Saudi Arabia, and it would not be a surprise to see him make the move to the Saudi Pro League in the coming weeks.

Verdict: Leave

Anthony Martial

Martial's exit on June 30 has not been officially confirmed by the club, but it is almost certain that he will be leaving the 20-time English champions on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old has scored twice and registered one assist in 19 appearances for the Red Devils this season, but he has not featured since December, having undergone a groin operation at the start of 2024.

Martial is back in training, but he is not expected to play again before the end of the season.

As a result, the ex-Monaco youngster is set to leave Old Trafford with a record of 90 goals and 47 assists in 317 appearances for the club in all competitions since his arrival in September 2015.

Verdict: Leave

Jonny Evans

Evans was never meant to be a starting centre-back this season, rather the fifth-choice option behind Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire.

However, due to the club's defensive problems in 2024-25, he has made 28 appearances in all competitions, and he has proven to be a very important player for the club this term.

The 36-year-old has proven that he can still compete in the Premier League, and another one-year deal cannot be ruled out, with a view to potentially then progressing into a coaching role.

Man United should be looking to keep hold of Evans, even if he is used sparingly next term.

Verdict: New deal

Tom Heaton

Heaton is currently the number three goalkeeper at Old Trafford, with the Englishman behind Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir in the pecking order for the gloves.

The 38-year-old has only made three appearances for the Red Devils since returning to the club in 2021, and he has not featured at all this season.

Heaton is a strong presence and well-respected figure at Carrington, though, and he is also a very capable goalkeeper, so it makes sense to offer him another one-year deal on a reduced salary.

Verdict: New deal

Omari Forson

Forson has made seven first-team appearances for Man United this season, including four outings in the Premier League, but there is huge uncertainty surrounding his future.

The Red Devils have still not managed to come to an agreement with the 19-year-old over a new deal, and there is a real danger that he could walk away from the club at the end of next month.

Forson has struggled to impress during his limited first-team action, but he has shown his class in the youth team and at Under-23s level, and the forward has the potential to kick on next season.

Man United should be looking to keep hold of the versatile attacker, who was a late substitute in the team's Premier League clash with Arsenal last weekend.

Verdict: New deal
