Joanna Lumley is confirmed as the UK spokesperson at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Acting legend Joanna Lumley has been confirmed as the UK spokesperson at this year's Eurovision grand final.

The Absolutely Fabulous star will announce the results of the UK jury's votes live during Saturday night's show, following in the footsteps of the likes of Catherine Tate, Nigella Lawson, Richard Osman and Cheryl Baker.

This year's contest is being staged in Malmo, Sweden, following on from Loreen's victory in Liverpool a year ago, with the first of the semi-finals taking place tonight.

In a statement, Lumley said: "Good Evening Malmö, it's Joanna here! I am delighted to be announcing the jury vote for the UK at this year's Eurovision. It's such a fabulous honour to give the iconic 'douze points'!"

Other confirmed spokespeople include 2023 favourite Kaarija for Finland, 2016 winner Jamala for Ukraine and 1984 host Desiree Nosbusch for Switzerland.
