Amy Pascal discusses the future of the Spider-Man franchise following the epic nature of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal has said that she is not worried about the future of the franchise following the epic nature of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The movie - released worldwide last week to record-breaking box office figures - was a multiverse adventure that saw Tom Holland's version of the character join forces with previous Spidey suit inhabitants Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Pascal has recently outlined plans for a new trilogy of movies, most likely with Holland continuing as the lead, and in a new interview she has insisted that she is not concerned about trying to outdo No Way Home.

"You can't think about topping yourself in terms of spectacle. Otherwise movies just get larger and larger for no reason, and it's not a good result," she told Variety.

"But we do want to always try and top ourselves in terms of quality and emotion. Kevin [Feige] and I never want to lose sight of one thing: Peter Parker. That he's a normal kid. That he is orphaned over and over again. That he's a teenager, so everything in his life is at a heightened pitch and everything matters more than anything. That he's fueled by goodness and guilt. That he's striving for a greater cause, and he's vilified by the press."

Although production details have yet to be confirmed, the next movie in the saga is expected to be released in late 2023 or early 2024.
