Harry Potter star Warwick Davis announces that his wife Samantha has died at the age of 53.

Harry Potter and Life's Too Short star Warwick Davis has revealed that his wife Samantha died last month at the age of 53.

The pair met on the set of the cult movie Willow in 1988 and married three years later, going on to have two children together.

In a statement to BBC News, Davis revealed that she died on March 24 after decades of health issues.

"Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs," he said.

"She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes."

He added: "Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. No Idiot Abroad Series 3."

Samantha is survived by Warwick and their two children Annabelle, 27, and Harrison, 21.
