Chelsea are reportedly open to allowing Trevoh Chalobah to go out on loan, amid speculation regarding a move to Bayern Munich.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to consider a loan proposal for defender Trevoh Chalobah.

The academy graduate has proven to be a valuable squad option over the past two seasons, making a total of 63 appearances in all competitions.

Such has been his impact that Chelsea recently handed Chalobah a contract until 2028, seemingly an indication that he would spend the next phase of his career at Stamford Bridge.

However, the 24-year-old has only fallen down the pecking order during 2023, a consequence of Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill all becoming a part of the first-team squad.

Chalobah's efforts to regain his place have not been helped by an injury sustained at the end of pre-season, preventing him from making an appearance in competitive games throughout August.

That has led to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital being open to offers, preferably permanent ones with there being a need to bolster the club's position with FFP.

Bayern Munich - managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel - have emerged as the clear favourites to secure a deal for the player, although they are not in a position to meet Chelsea's alleged demands of approximately £40m.

According to The Secret Scout on Twitter, Chelsea have accepted that they are unlikely to receive their asking price before Friday's transfer deadline.

Boehly and Clearlake are now reportedly prepared to negotiate a loan exit for Chalobah, the assumption being that Bayern would need to pay a significant fee.

Despite having initially wanted to fight for his place at Chelsea, the report claims that Chalobah is happy to accept a transfer to the Bundesliga champions.

Chelsea have just negotiated such an arrangement for Romelu Lukaku to join Roma, the Serie A outfit also paying the bulk of the Belgian's wages.

As it stands, Chelsea can allow one more player to go out on loan to a club outside of the United Kingdom, and that spot may be taken by Chalobah.

Deivid Washington had been earmarked for a switch to Strasbourg - joining fellow Chelsea newcomer Angelo Gabriel - but it appears more likely that the young Brazilian will remain in West London.
