Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg with Real Madrid.

Manchester City will have to cope without the suspended Joao Cancelo for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie with Real Madrid at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

The Portugal international picked up his third booking of the tournament at the Wanda Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid and will be forced to watch this one from the sidelines.

Pep Guardiola will therefore be desperate to have Kyle Walker back from an ankle problem this week, but John Stones's muscular injury has also rendered him doubtful.

Walker is feeling "much, much better" according to the City boss and therefore ought to fill in for Cancelo at right-back, while Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte's spots are not in any danger with Stones a doubt.

Oleksandr Zinchenko could hold off the threat of Nathan Ake to start at left-back for the hosts, who should elect to bring Bernardo Silva back into the middle in place of Fernandinho.

Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri will join the Portuguese in the middle as ever, and Guardiola now has a massive call to make at the tip of the attack.

Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling will seemingly occupy the wide positions, but Gabriel Jesus scored four against Watford and also knows how to find the back of the net against Real, so he could get the nod over Phil Foden.

Man City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling
