Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that summer arrival Alex Telles has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Brazil international made his debut for the 20-time English champions against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week but missed out against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Telles was also absent from the squad against RB Leipzig on Wednesday night, and Solskjaer said after his team's 5-0 win that the left-back had recently tested positive for coronavirus.

"Yeah he's been out now for a little while because he has tested positive for coronavirus," Solskjaer told MUTV. "No symptoms, he's fine and we can't wait to have him back."

The 27-year-old was strongly linked with United over the summer before ultimately joining the Premier League side on transfer deadline day.

Telles is also expected to miss this weekend's clash with Arsenal, and it is currently unclear when the defender might be available for selection once again.
