Ole Gunnar Solskjaer received a number of text messages from his Manchester United squad expressing their support after the defeat to Liverpool, according to a report.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly received a number of text messages from his squad expressing their support after the five-goal loss to Liverpool last weekend.

Solskjaer's position at the helm was called into question following the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford, but the Norwegian will lead the team into Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

According to ESPN, amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, the Red Devils boss received a number of messages of support from his squad.

The report claims that Man United players also contacted the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to back Solskjaer, with the players seeking clarity over the head coach's position.

The 48-year-old is still believed to have strong support in the dressing room at the club despite a poor run of form, which has seen the 20-time English champions lose three of their last four league matches.

Man United are now facing three huge games in quick succession against Tottenham, Atalanta BC and Manchester City ahead of the November international break.
