Arsenal are ready to battle for the signature of Bayern Munich attacker Robert Lewandowski this summer, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs hoping to secure the signature of Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski this summer.

The 33-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his contract with the Bundesliga champions, who are not believed to have opened talks over a possible extension.

Lewandowski has affirmed that he is "open to everything" amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City all linked with a swoop.

Now, FourFourTwo reports that Bayern are reluctant to hand Lewandowski a new long-term contract given his age, which has put Arsenal on red alert amid their striker search.

The Gunners are set to lose both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as free agents ahead of the 2022-23 season, and the report adds that Bayern have already identified Erling Braut Haaland as a natural replacement.

Lewandowski has struck 39 goals in 33 matches for Bayern this season, taking his total for the Bavarian giants to 333 strikes in 362 appearances since his 2014 arrival.
