Max Verstappen: 'Toro Rosso rookie lineup not important'

Max Verstappen is unfazed by the prospect of racing alongside fellow rookie Carlos Sainz Jr at Toro Rosso.

Max Verstappen has claimed that working alongside a fellow rookie driver at Toro Rosso next season will not be a problem.

The Dutch teenager will become the youngest-ever racer in Formula 1 when he competes at the Australian Grand Prix in March.

Carlos Sainz Jr was unveiled as Verstappen's teammate last week, but the youngster says that he is unfazed by the prospect of racing alongside another driver with no F1 experience.

He told Crash.net: "This job is always hard, there is so much to learn and you have to use all your concentration in order to get the best out of the car and of yourself. At the end, it's not so important who your team mate is, as you have to rely only on yourself."

Daniil Kvyat, who finished 15th in the drivers' championship last season, will replace Ferrari-bound Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull for 2015, while Jean-Eric Vergne's future in the sport remains in doubt after he lost his seat to Sainz.
