Anders Konradsen strikes late against Nice

Anders Konradsen's 90th-minute strike gives Rennes a narrow victory over Nice in Ligue 1.

Rennes moved to within a point of eighth-placed Lille in the Ligue 1 table after Anders Konradsen's late goal saw them beat Nice.

It was the visitors who looked likeliest to score in the opening minutes. Carlos Eduardo had his shot blocked before Alassane Plea rattled the post with a strike from distance.

Nice then took the lead midway through the first half when Eric Bautheac turned Plea's cross home from close range.

They nearly added a second before half time when Bautheac turned provider for Plea, but his effort was stopped by Benoit Costil.

Rennes hit back within minutes of the restart when midfielder Sanjin Prcic found space on the right side of the area to shoot the ball into the far corner past Simon Pouplin.

Plea again threatened to score a match-winning goal late on as he fired wide after another accurate pass from Bautheac.

However, it was Rennes who grabbed the three points as Konradsen stepped up in the final minute to score for the hosts.
