Lorient hit back to stun Toulouse with 3-2 away victory

Three second-half goals launch Lorient to a surprise 3-2 comeback win over home side Toulouse in Ligue 1 at the Stadium Municipal.

Three second-half goals scored in a matter of five minutes have given travelling Lorient a surprise 3-2 victory against Toulouse at the Stadium Municipal in Ligue 1 this evening.

Lorient's Benjamin Jeannot looked to threaten in the opening minutes of the encounter as he fired in low to Ali Ahamada's bottom corner, drawing a smart save from the Toulouse stopper.

The hosts were then wasteful as Dragos Grigore caught hold of a cross from Etienne Didot, only to see his headed attempt fly past the post without testing the goalkeeper.

With the rest of his teammates appearing wasteful, Tongo Doumbia finally broke the deadlock and put Toulouse ahead with an easy finish from the centre of the box prior to the interval.

The game was dramatically turned on its head in the 55th minute when Lorient drew level through Raphael Guerreiro's shot into the bottom corner, before Jeannot profited from Jordan Ayew's pass just a minute later to put the visitors into a 2-1 lead.

Lorient wrapped up their smash-and-grab victory four minutes later as Francois Moubandje brough down Ayew in the box, leaving the striker to cooly dispatch his spot kick.

Toulouse did manage to grab what turned out to be a mere consolation when Aleksandar Pesic prodded home after Wissam Ben Yedder's initial header had hit the post.
